KURTA Executive, along with Sri Naini Rajender Reddy, local MLA meets the Finance Minister Sri Bhatti Vikramaraka garu 17 Nov 2025

Kakatiya University Retired Teachers’ Association (KURTA)
Date: 17-11-2025

The Executive Committee of the KURTA, along with Warangal East MLA Sri Naini Rajender Reddy garu, met the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister & Finance Minister of Telangana today and submitted a representation seeking immediate release of pending pension funds to Kakatiya University.

During the meeting, KURTA President Prof. A. Sadanandam explained that, due to recent instructions from the Finance Department, universities are being asked to submit separate bills for salaries and pensions. As a result, while salary bills are being cleared, pension bills for the past several months remain pending, forcing the University to bear the burden from its already limited resources.

The Hon’ble Finance Minister gave a patient hearing, understood the gravity of the situation, and assured the delegation “not to worry.” He agreed with the Association’s clarification that, under government accounting norms, pension is an integral component of the ‘salary’ budget head.

KURTA expresses its deep gratitude to the Hon’ble Minister for his understanding and positive response, and to Sri Naini Rajender Reddy garu for taking the initiative to facilitate this crucial meeting. The Association is optimistic that the problem will be resolved at the earliest and that regular pension funding to Kakatiya University will be restored. Prof. M. Erragattu Swamy, Vice President, Prof. V. Ravinder, General Secretary, Prof. G. Veeranna, Treasurer, Prof. K. Venkatanarayana, EC Member and Prof. E. RamReddy, EC member were present and participated in the deliberations.

Dear Members

In accordance with the resolution adopted in the previous General Body Meeting, the General Body Meeting of our Association was held today, 31-07-2025, in the Conference Hall of the University College of Science, Osmania University, Hyderabad.
It was a truly nostalgic and emotional experience for many of us, especially the senior members, to return to our alma mater, where we spent some of the most formative years of our lives. Members fondly recalled their student days and shared cherished memories, making the occasion even more special.
The General Body appreciated and wholeheartedly commended the Executive Committee for its dedicated efforts in resolving several long-pending issues, including the disbursement of PRC arrears, AQP arrears, and DA arrears, as reported by the General Secretary. Members also expressed gratitude for the successful securing of office space for our Association within the university premises.
Suggestions were made by members to continue pursuing other pending matters such as the revision of HRA to 15%, issuance of health cards, and implementation of an online system for submitting life certificates.
It was unanimously resolved to revise the annual membership fee from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,000 in view of holding two meetings a year, along with the conduct of sports and cultural events on Republic Day and Independence Day.
Furthermore, it was resolved to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of our beloved university on 19th August 2025 with special programs on the KU campus.

The Executive Committee extends its heartfelt thanks to all members for their enthusiastic participation, which contributed to the grand success of today’s meeting. We firmly believe that our collective strength and unity will go a long way in achieving the rightful benefits due to us.
