Golden Jubilee Celebrations of University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kakatiya University Organized by the Alumni and the UCPS on 27th and 28th December 2025 29 Dec 2025

It is a matter of great joy and nostalgia for me to have attended the two day colourful event of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Kakatiya University. Completing fifty years is a significant milestone, reflecting decades of academic dedication, institutional growth, and service to society.
My association with this University—and with UCPS—dates back to 1975, when I joined Kakatiya University as a student of MA Economics. We took admission by the entrance test conducted by the Osmania IUniversity in 1975 but passed out in 1977 with a degree awarded by Kakatiya University as the then existing PG centre was upgraded and Kaktiya University was established on August 19, in 1976. Later in December 1977 I joined the Arts and Science College, KU as lecturer in Economics. In those days, the UASC and UCPS shared the same campus So I have a strong bondage with the University and the UCPS for the past memorable 50 golden years.
I fondly recall the senior professors who laid the foundations of UCPS, particularly Prof. Sisodia and Prof. C. K. Kokate, who came from distant places and became not only respected academicians but also friendly colleagues. It is a matter of pride that Prof. Kokate later served as the Vice-Chancellor of this University. Later the faculty enriched by the joining of Prof. V. Malla Reddy, Prof. Rambhave, Prof. Amareswar, Prof. Appa Rao, Prof. DR. Krishna, then at a later period, Dr. Rathore, Dr. Ramesh Rao, Prof. Y. Madhusudhan Rao, Prof. V. Kishan, Prof. M. Sarangapani, Prof. B. Venkateshwarlu, Prof. C. Viresham, Prof. Ravikumar and others.
Over the years, UCPS has emerged as the premier institution for pharmaceutical education and research in Kakatiya University. It is one of the colleges that consistently brings name and fame to the University, especially through academic excellence, research contributions, and national rankings. Generations of faculty members have upheld high standards in teaching and research, shaping capable professionals and scholars.
On a personal note I wish to share that my son also joined B.Pharm and completed it in 2006-7 from UCPC.
As we celebrate this Golden Jubilee, we not only honour the past but also reaffirm our commitment to the future. I am confident that UCPS will continue to grow as a centre of excellence, innovation, and societal relevance.
To Alumni and Students
To the alumni of UCPS, you are the living ambassadors of this institution. Your achievements across academia, industry, research, and public service are the true measure of its success. Stay connected, give back in whatever way you can, and continue to uphold the values you imbibed here.
To the students, you are privileged to learn in an institution with such a rich legacy. Dream big, work hard, and carry forward the reputation of UCPS with integrity, curiosity, and commitment to society.
Once again, on behalf of KURTA and my own behalf, Congratulations and best wishes to UCPS family.
